BCATW ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The BC Association of Travel Writers held its Annual General Meeting on November 16th, 2008 at 1:00 in the Board Room at the Vancouver Public Library with 18 members in attendance.

As interim President, Robert Scheer reported on association progress since January/08: new logo, Gala held in July, newly forged relationship with Tourism Vancouver and continuing work to update the BCATW website. As Treasurer Robert Scheer outlined the association’s finances for the fiscal year, noting that Gala expenses from July/08 will be in the next budget.

Margaret Deefolts conducted election of the Board . All positions on the Board are now filled and will conduct the business of the Association until the next AGM in November 2009.

A subcommittee of volunteers was formed. This group of experienced and enthusiastic members has committed to searching for a Gala/Symposium venue and door prizes for this annual event: Sally Bennett; Jan de Grass, Caroline Jackson, Margo Malcolm, Vic Foster, Jane Cassie and possibly Randi Winter

The meeting concluded before 3:00 pm after completion of the agenda and a lively exchange of motivating ideas. Members then enjoyed light refreshments and a mix ‘n’ mingle session.
